SSC CGL Exam will be conducted through Online mode (Computer based Examination). As you are well aware that SSC will be conducting Combined Graduate Level examination(CGL) for Tier – I Examination in the month of August’ 16, Tier II in the month of November ’16, and Tier- III in the month of January ‘16. The SSC Exam date for CGL Tier I is from 27th August to 11th September. For the First three days exam will be conducted in two batches per day (27.08.2016 to 29.08.2016) and thereafter from 30.08.2016 to 11.09.2016 will be conducted in three batches per day.

How to prepare SSC CGL Exam

Before preparing for the SSC CGL exam, candidates should know about the syllabus, exam pattern and the selection process after qualifying the exam.

SSC CGL exam is conducted every year for the Graduates. SSC CGL consists of Four important sections for Tier I namely Quantitative Aptitude, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness  and English Comprehension. The Tier II exam consists of two important papers. They are Paper I (Quantitative Ability), Paper II (English Language & Comprehension), Paper -III* (Statistics – only for those who are applied for post of Statistical Investigator) and Paper – IV* (Finance & Accounts, Economy & Governance – only for those who are applied for post of AAO).

The candidates must have strong knowledge in the mathematical concepts (school level) and also in basic reasoning skills. Better start your preparation from General Intelligence & reasoning. You will be able to learn quickly thereby you will get more confidence in your preparation.

When you start preparing Quantitative Aptitude, you must focus on three important things- concepts, Formulae, and short tricks. you may find so many techniques for solving a particular pattern. But follow only one technique. Too many techniques will confuse you in the Examination.

SSC CGL Reasoning Tips

  • Learn all topics under reasoning section and practice as many questions as possible.
  • Learn traditional formulae & Short tricks
  • Analyze your strong and weak zone
  • Spend your time wisely on preparation. For eg. Don’t spend too much time on the single question.  
  • Practice questions on topic wise. For eg: Daily Practice 20 questions on reasoning.
  • Analyze the previous year exam papers to figure out the number of Questions that has been asked from each topic
  • Go through the Previous year question papers to know about the pattern of Questions that has been frequently asked.

SSC CGL English Language Tips

  • Learn 10 new words (Vocabulary) daily which will be useful in attempting Synonyms, Antonyms and Correc spelt words.
  • Daily Read Newspaper for one hour. It will improve your reading speed and also you will learn new words.
  • Learn basic grammar which is essential for attempting sentence correction questions.
  • Learn 10 Standard Phrases and Idioms daily.
  • Practice questions on topic wise. For eg: Daily Practice 10 questions on the English language
  • Analyze the previous year exam papers to figure out the number of Questions that has been asked from each topic
  • Go through the Previous year question papers to know about the pattern of Questions that has been frequently asked

SSC CGL Quantitative Aptitude Tips

 

  • Learn all topics under Quantitative section and practice as many questions as possible.

  • Get the last six months current affairs capsule and go through it daily for two hours
  • Try to remember the important  days, events,  new appointments etc.,
  • Download the short notes for general studies and revise it daily for two hours.
  • Practice questions on topic wise. For eg: Daily Practice 20 questions on the General Awareness.
  • Analyze the previous year exam papers to figure out the number of Questions that has been asked from each topic
  • Go through the Previous year question papers to know about the pattern of Questions that has been frequently asked

SSC CGL Study Planner

 

Here we are providing the Study planner for  upcoming SSC CGL Exam.

  • Study for minimum 10 hours daily.
  • Revise the topics again and again which are very familiar to you.
  • Don’t learn any new techniques or new topics, because it won’t help you in your last minute preparation.
  • Take Mock Test daily at the end of the day ( Eg: 5:00 PM to 6:15PM)
  • Start the test (Mock Test as well SSC CGL Exam) with the section you are more confident about it.
  • Take 45 seconds to 1 minute for solving each question.This strategy will improve your speed and also you can attempt maximum number of questions

There will be negative marking of 0.50 for each wrong answer in Tier-I. For Tier-II, the negative marking remains the same

The candidates who are securing qualifying marks in Tier I and II will be called up for Tier III (Descriptive paper). The Final merit is based on the overall Performance in Tier I, II & III. However, candidates have to qualify all the Tiers separately. There will be no sectional Cut-off.
